The European Championships is a new event on the global sporting calendar with 4,500 athletes from a host of different sports competing for the ultimate accolade – Gold! Occurring every 4 years, the event will be hosted by Glasgow and Berlin from 2nd – 12th August, 2018.
What is Glasgow hosting?
Glasgow is the location for the aquatics, cycling, gymnastics, rowing, triathlon and golf competitions with more than 3,000 athletes taking part. The golf competition, which takes place over 5 days, will be held at Gleneagles, only 5 minutes’ from CLC Duchally Country Estate.

Teeing up for a new golf tournament
The Jack Nicklaus designed Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course is the challenge that faces the men and women competing in the golf tournaments. As well as individual Match Play, there is a ground-breaking “historic” event with the Team Stroke Play competition: men and women will be competing together for the first time.
Aileen Campbell, Scottish Government Minister for Sport, said: “Gleneagles has staged many prestigious golf tournaments through its history. In 2018 Gleneagles will be the magnificent setting for European Championships and will see elite men and women golfers compete together for the first time”.
