One of Scotland’s best loved cultural events is celebrated every year on or around January 25th – the birthday of Scottish national treasure, the poet Robert ‘Rabbie’ Burns.
‘Burns Night’ suppers take place all over the country – and anywhere else where Scots may gather – and feature poetry readings, music and dance, with the works of the prolific bard always taking centre stage, accompanied by a few drams for good measure, naturally.
This year, CLC Duchally Country Estate is hosting a special ‘Burns Weekend’, with their special Burns Night Dinner on offer for two nights – on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th January.
The resort’s award-winning chefs have put together a wonderful three course menu – for just £35 per person – which, while it may not be 100% in keeping with the strictures of the traditional Burns Night format, is sure to tempt even the most discerning of palettes. The regular restaurant menu will also be available to ensure the widest possible choice for guests and residents.
Complementing the superb Scottish fare will be a programme of live musical entertainment, for a memorable night in the heart of the Highlands at CLC Duchally Country Estate.
Scottish singer Alan Parker will be performing on Saturday 24th, while the ever popular songstress Sandy Marshall will entertain on Sunday 25th.
Booking is essential for what will be a popular and well-supported weekend of food, drink and entertainment. Go to www.duchally.co.uk for more information, or to make a reservation call 01764 663 071.
