The prestigious Master Chefs of Great Britain annual general meeting and lunch attracts top chefs who meet to swap ideas and discuss how to further the profession through training and guidance – and amongst the key players at this year’s AGM, held in Edinburgh, was CLC World member and celebrity television chef Cyrus Todiwala.
He cooks, teaches, runs successful restaurants with wife Pervin, and when he is not engaged in all that he appears regularly on the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen and other TV and radio shows, as well as authoring renowned cookery books, including The Incredible Spice Men, linked to the BBC TV series of that name when Cyrus joined forces with Scottish chef Tony Singh to spice up traditional British dishes.
The Todiwalas have been members of CLC World for 15 years and CLC Duchally is one of their favourite resorts so they naturally chose to stay there for the Master Chefs event. “We always enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and it is the perfect place to base ourselves,” said Cyrus.
He was awarded an MBE for services to skills development and training and an OBE for his contribution to the hospitality industry and a career highlight was cooking for the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
