Each year the crowds swell for one of Scotland’s most spectacular and magical shows which takes place at Faskally Wood, near Pitlochry, creating an unforgettable and enchanting evening entertainment.

Over 40,000 visited The Enchanted Forest in 2013 and as many as 45,000 are anticipated to flock to this year’s show: Elemental, which opened on October 2 and runs throughout the month finishing on October 26.

Fire, water, earth and sky are incorporated into dramatic interpretations by Highland Perthshire Community Interest Company, with live performers this year: musicians, singers and acrobats, thanks to funding from EventScotland.

If you love the breathtaking spectacle that is Cirque du Soleil, you will be similarly delighted here; eyes constantly darting to catch the many surprises and set-pieces designed to wow and delight the crowds.

Think dazzling trees illuminated by beautiful and changing colours, dancing fountains, exotic plants created by university students from Edinburgh, and acrobatic displays as you meander along designated footpaths, with stops for refreshment and/or a visit to the storytelling yurt.

The Enchanted Forest was named Best Cultural Event at the 2013 Scottish Event Awards and is shortlisted again for 2014; as well as being shortlisted as Best Outdoor Experience and Best Event in the Scottish Thistle Awards, awarded in November.

Sound like a super spectacular you wouldn’t want to miss? If you are visiting Duchally Country Estate during October, be sure to add it to your itinerary. Ask at Reception for more information or book tickets in advance on line.
