If you are planning to stay at Duchally, why not come along to our very own distillery and sample our Gatehouse Gin? You can also make your own gin – working on the botanicals together to create a unique and delicious spirit.
Fancy some competition? We have two stills, so you can go head-to-head with family members or other guests in your group to see who produces the best tipple.
Our amazing gin tastings start with a brief introduction to ourselves and to each of our authentically-produced gins. Get your taste buds flowing with a sumptuous sampling of carefully selected gins, including a snifter of our very own Gatehouse Gin. We will talk you through the whole tasting by explaining about the botanicals in each gin.
What better way to start your experience than with a Gatehouse Gin and tonic? You can then create a specific recipe, guided by the knowledgeable distiller. Our copper stills allow guests a unique opportunity to play with a choice of botanicals to produce a one-off gin which they can sample and take home.
Everyone who attends the experience will be part of the gin-distilling process from start-to-finish, including filling the still, checking the strength and temperatures and the preparation of botanicals – and then collecting the spirit – for the ultimate gin experience.
During the 60 minutes that the still is heating up, you will learn about different gin cocktails and mixers – knowledge that you can wow your friends with at home!
You will also be able to taste the gin from the still through different stages of the distilling process as the flavours of the spirit change. After the experience we will send out a 50cl bottle of your own gin to allow you to enjoy your personalised gin with family and friends.
