What you need to know about getting married in Scotland
While we’ll ensure that you and your party will celebrate in the finest traditions of highland hospitality, there are certain formalities you’ll need to keep in mind. A marriage notice form needs to be given to the registrar of the district where the ceremony will be held, between three months and 29 days before the wedding date. You’ll then receive a Marriage Schedule, which you’ll need to give to your marriage celebrant. If you’ve chosen CLC Duchally Country Estate for your destination wedding in Scotland, and you’re resident outside the European Union, you’ll also need to ensure you apply for a Marriage Visitor visa.
A family affair at CLC Duchally Country Estate
We’ve shared many special days with countless happy couples, but one that we were particularly delighted to celebrate was that of long-standing CLC World employee Scott Ramsey and his wife Cahra, who chose to say ‘I do’ at Duchally with their daughter Holly as the flower girl.
It was a chance for us all to raise a toast to the happy couple and say thank you to Scott, who has been working at CLC World for over 13 years. The newlyweds were joined by close friends and family at the resort for two nights, enjoying the best of Duchally Country Estate’s superb facilities and gourmet cuisine.
For Scott, the setting and the day were perfect. “The weather was incredible and really showed off how lovely the grounds are. It didn’t feel like your typical day at work. I definitely was the guest – and the groom.”
