The Highland Games are a combination of fun, sport and culture that only Scotland could produce.

From May to September there are over 80 Highland Games taking place across the country. Want to witness the traditional strength events such as caber-tossing and tug-o-war? Or would you prefer the sounds of a pipe band or the beauty of a highland dance? Highland Games give you all, and more.

Within reach of CLC Duchally Counrty Estate there are a number of Highland Games events.

July 23rd Balquidder, Locheranhead and Strathyre
Just an hour away from CLC Duchally Country Estate, this traditional Highland Games is a great fun day out. A number of famous clans gather here, where events include Highland dancing, piping and the heavyweight contests. There are plenty of activities for the children to enjoy, too.

August 13th Athol & Breadalbane Highland Gathering
Aberfeldy comes alive with an agricultural show and the highland gathering of the clan Menzies. With livestock displays, wrestling and equestrian events and the more uncommon sport of terrier racing, it is two days of fun in this pretty town.

August 14th Perth Highland Games
North Inch is home to these games first held in 1925. The wonders of the Highland Games are here for all to see including the impressive heavyweight events: caber-toss, hammer throw, tug-o-war and the hammer over the bar. It’s not all brute strength; dancers perform the Highland Fling and the Sword Dance. There’s something for everyone.

These are just a few of the Highland Games within easy reach of CLC Duchally Country Estate, the perfect location to relax after the excitement of a day of games.
